CHABLÉ CARES

The need for sustainable, responsible, planning and management is a MUST for the tourism and travel industry to prosper for decades to come. As the tourism industry grows, so does its impact on the environment and society. At Chablé Hotels, we are aware that there is a lot we can do to reduce our impact on the planet, so we are on a daily mission to become more sustainable by redefining wellness.

OUR PLEDGE

We pledge to honor the ecosystems, cultural traditions and natural rhythms around each of our properties, with love for the beauty and wonder found within and to live harmoniously now while holding space for future generations.

OUR PLANET

The planet gives us life, and we are committed to honoring that in every way we can, by operating responsibly and nurturing the preservation of resources consciously.

OUR PEOPLE

People hold vibrations and invite joy, and we honor you, our guest with gratitude for our staff, who exude warmth in delivering service from the heart.

OUR PLACE

Perhaps nothing influences experience as profoundly as place, which inspires a careful recognition and preservation of resources, informs the way design and nature interconnect and nurture harmony, while forever captivating the senses.

OUR PURPOSE

Purpose shared is purpose fulfilled, and for us, it’s the desire to promote balance and longevity, by protecting and preserving natural resources and creating restorative spaces that encourage guests to feel a sense of pure well-being.

UNITED NATIONS SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

The United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals provide a strategic framework for us to adopt in every action and contribute to our planet & society.
We have prioritized the following global goals that are most relevant to our pledge:

Good health and well-being | Decent work and economic growth | Responsible consumption and production | Climate action | Life below water | Life on land

ACTIONS AND PROGRAMS

SUSTAINABLE FISHING

At Chablé we partnered with different sustainable fisheries that adapt to the reproductive rate of fish to maintain a balance and ensure the survival of all species. Our chefs and restaurants are part the movement “Pesca con Futuro” that aims to spread a message of sustainability in fish and aquaculture production in Mexico, keeping aquatic populations at a healthy level.

FARM TO TABLE

We have more than 100 Ka’anche’s at both properties, traditional mayan gardens where we recreate harvesting techniques that have not been used in over a century. We also have production beds on the ground, equivalent to 20 square meters for each bed.
Products that are produced in our Ka’anche’s: radish, coriander, oregano, basil, citronella, stevia, chives, cherry tomato, habañero pepper, among others.
We produce our own mayonnaise, ice cream and sorbets, salty and sweet bread, tortillas, jams, sauces, granola, mole, amaranth, chocolate truffles and crowbars.

20 OWN P RODUCTS

WILDLIFE CONSERVATION

Conserving wildlife is at heart of our mission.
We focus on protecting populations of white-tailed deer, armadillos, melipona beer and coatis.

VEGETATION & MANGROVE PRESERVATION

Starting with a design that has a symbiotic relationship with its environment, Chablé Hotels were sustainably built to serve as an extension of the surrounding landscapes and culture.

Chablé Maroma, which is nestled seaside, was constructed using elements from the peninsula and supporting some columns made from local zapote and chaca tree trunks. Beach vegetation was preserved. All these minimize the impact on the terrain, taking care of the mangroves and groundwater table of the region. We installed 4 permanent flood level monitoring stations, to provide the best conditions for the mangrove conservation.

PLASTIC FREE

We eliminated use of plastic bottles, saving more than 7,000 a month.

CLEAN ENERGY

On 2021, we installed solar panels at Chablé Yucatán, which generate 60% of the energy we currently use.

1,848 MODULES INSTALLED
812 TONS OF CO2 NOT EMITTED PER YEAR EQUIVALENT = PLANTING 4,318 TREES

WATER WASTE

At Chablé Maroma, we have our own water recycling plant, a fully automated standalone unit that enables recycling of process water by treating the water in a cost-efficient manner.

LOCAL EMPOWERMENT

At Chable, it is one of our top priorities to empower local communities and provide decent jobs regarding standards and rights at work, social protection and social dialogue for our collaborators.

OUR BOUTIQUES

At both Chablé boutiques, we sell Mexican vendors products from different states in order to support local commerce.

WELLNESS GOLF

Wellbeing is achieved through connection to the environment, the body’s work and practice with the mind to redefine experiences, curiosity, energy and the expansion of our senses.

At every Chablé Property we offer different wellness experiences for our guests & collaborators that will help you connect with your mind, body and soul: Wellness Golf, Yoga, Spa, Ceremonies and more.

CULTURE & TRADITIONS

A very important Chablé pillar is to preserve and promote our ancient cultures. At both Chablé properties you can enjoy wellness ceremonies & temazcal. The word temazcal means “steam house” and this is a ritual based on one of the oldest forms of medicine where the physical, mental and spiritual levels come together.

At Chablé Yucatán you can enjoy our mayan cuisine, a space where ancient culture and civilization flow and will amaze you.
You can also enjoy every Monday our “Jarana Yucateca” a traditional mayan dance.

SUSTAINABLE EXPERIENCES FOR OUR GUESTS

At Chablé, we want our guests to become part of our world’s changemakers, by offering unique experiences in which they learn and participate actively in our sustainable activities.

CORAL RESTORATION

Chablé Maroma partners with OCEANUS A.C. to restore the Caribbean Mexican reef off the coast of Punta Maroma / Hotel Chablé Maroma. They transplant 650 live colonies each year and invite guests to adopt a coral by leaving their wishes on a cement base, which is later placed in the sea. Once OCEANUS A.C. has placed them in the sea, the guest will receive a photo of their base, ready to adopt a coral.
